Getting More Involved

“Our Twelfth Step — carrying the message—is the basic service that A A ‘s Fellowship gives; this is our principal aim and the main reason for our existence. Therefore, A A is more than a set of principles; it is a society of alcoholics in action. We must carry the message, else we ourselves can wither and those who haven’t been given the truth will die. “

“Hence, an A A service is anything whatever that helps us to reach a fellow sufferer—ranging all the way from the Twelfth Step itself to a ten- cent phone call and a cup of coffee, and to A A ‘s General Service Head- quarters for national and international action. The sum total of all these services is our Third Legacy.” – Bill W, A.A. Grapevine, July 1955

District 36 serves the groups and A.A. members of the Snoqualmie Valley in a lot of ways. Some of the more visible ways include organizing Alcothons, the annual Gratitude Dinner, conducting workshops, and helping to carry the message of A.A. to Echo Glen. The less visible activities include helping groups understand issues facing A.A, representing the valley’s “group conscience” to our area, and collaborating with A.A.’s on all kinds of matters.

You’re likely curious about how you might deepen your program by being of service at the District level. I found it challenging at first but it has always been immensely rewarding and continues to play a huge role in my sobriety.

I’d love to chat with you and see you at our next business meeting! Just show up – we meet on the first Tuesday of every month, 7:00 PM at Fall City United Methodist Church, 4326 337th Place S.E.,
Fall City.

Thank You,

John B., DCM District 36
